On September 18th, the L.L.M students paid a visit to Si Ma Tai Great Wall and spent a good time there. Si Ma Tai Great Wall, which has 35 watch towers and stretches and spans for 19 kilometers, is the only retained section of Great Wall built in Ming Dynasty and famous for its “steepness, compactness, queerness, wonderfulness, and comprehensiveness”. The students had their meal at the bottom of the mountain and got ready for their fancy but challenging trip up to the Great Wall. Although the cable cars helped the students save a lot of their energy, it was still not that easy to get up to the Great Wall which was built along the ridges. Fortunately, the tiredness was easily outshined by excitement.

Walking on the path piled up by stones a thousand years ago, students were busy with talking about the history of China and the Great Wall as well as taking pictures to keep their laughter and faces with the splendid view on the Great Wall. It was a visit during which the students knew each other better and learned more about China, and would definitely foster their interest to Chinese culture.
